The European Space Agency (ESA) is organizing the 3d consultation meeting of Earth Observation (EO) Open Science in ESRIN (Frascati, Italy) on  25–28 September 2017 to explore new challenges and opportunities for EO research created by the rapid advances in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). This includes open tools and software, data-intensive science, virtual research environment, citizen science and crowdsourcing, advanced visualization, e-learning and education of the new generation of EO and Data scientists.

The Codata International Conference will explore the fundamental issues relating to the availability, (re-)use and scientific analysis of data that relate to the most significant contemporary global challenges.

One of the factors that may contribute to the lack of positive growth in the aquaculture sector, is the lack of cooperation between operators. This may be regarding production, promotion and market intelligence or training and knowledge management including open access publications. Turning policy into growth can be achieved through diminishing competitive forces through common actions using regional cooperation, public/private partnerships and other initiatives that help to reduce conflicts.
