ERCIM - the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics - aims to foster collaborative work within the European research community and to increase cooperation with European industry. ERCIM is a consortium of leading research institutions across Europe and is internationally recognized as a major representative organization in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). As such, ERCIM provides access to ICT research groups in Europe through an extensive programme of research projects, working groups, publications, fellowships and prizes. ERCIM also hosts the European branch of the standardization body World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). ERCIM’s objective is to play a leading role in Information and Communication Technologies in Europe by: Building a Europe-wide, open network of centres of excellence in ICT and Applied Mathematics; Excelling in research and acting as a bridge for applications; Serving as a portal giving access to all relevant ICT research groups in Europe; and Promoting cooperation in research, technology transfer, innovation and training.

Founded in 1989 as a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), the members of ERCIM now include leading research establishments from 22 European countries, embodying more than 12,000 researchers and engineers. The Presidency of ERCIM is currently held by the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Since 1990, the ERCIM Office team has developed a proven expertise in managing research projects and large networks, and has been involved in over 40 projects funded by various European Community programmes and directly managing nearly 90M € in European funds, indicating the level of trust and experience demonstrated by the European research community.

The ERCIM Office in Sophia Antipolis (FR) will contribute to the Project Coordination Office with expertise for Administrative and Financial Management.


Key members

Jessica Michel Assoumou is Senior Project Coordinator at the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM) since 2004. Jessica served as Administrative and Financial Director of the European Commission funded DILIGENT project and the e-Infrastructure I3s D4Science, D4Science-II and iMarine. With extensive experience across the EU’s Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes, Jessica is bringing her in-depth knowledge of project management and financial administration to the BlueBRIDGE Project Coordination Office.
