The Technology Transfer Exhibition «Patras IQ» 2017, currently in its fourth edition, having taken place in 2012, 2015 and 2016, aims to develop and strengthen cooperation between the research community and the productive sector to benefit the citizens of the Greece area in the following ways:

  1. The application of research and innovation to the manufacturing industry to create new competitive products, generate new needs and ultimately create new jobs. New jobs will provide income to the region and multiply benefits to the national economy.
  2. Attracting investors from Greece and abroad, who can invest in the region’s productive and services sector, utilizing its knowledge thereby increasing the competitiveness of local and national economy with all the positive effects that this will have.

The exhibition includes:

•        Exhibits and models of innovative research products
•        Applied Research Presentations
•        Speeches from founders of start-ups and innovative SMEs
•        Lectures on technology transfer issues, intellectual property and finding resources to finance the innovative ideas
At the PATRAS IQ 2017, BlueBRIDGE was represented with a special demo stand with representatives of UoA, CITE, i2S,  ICRE8 and the University of Western Greece and a live running presentation of the project scope plus the VREs for the Blue Economy.

The PATRAS IQ event was attended by 7000 visitors, both from the local community and other cities of Greece.
The Secretary-General of the Region of Western Greece, as well as technological and enterprise  consultants, professional success advisors from selective relative companies (e.g. Water and Bio Solids and Management S.A., Softexperia, etc.) and many students at all levels of education, visited the BlueBRIDGE demo stand, listened to the presentation of  the project and consulted the dissemination material. The general feedback was that BlueBRIDGE  has a very interesting, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to the Blue Growth challenges. It was also highlighted that BlueBRIDGE can effectively support aquaculture (which will be  the source of future investment)by providing innovative services that can improve perfomance in terms of cost, maximize the growth rate and reduce the impact on the environment.
