From 10-12 November, 2016, BlueBRIDGE took part in the 2nd International Congress "HydroMediT 2016" in Mesolonghi, Greece. The 3-day programme explored applied ichthyology and aquatic environment, focusing on the topic, "Global trends and innovations for the sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries in our region".

The event, organised by the Department of Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment (DIAE), the School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Thessaly (UTh), and the Panhellenic Society of Technologists Ichthyologists (PASTI), provided participants with speeches, presentations, panels, video projections, and a seminar on the following topics:

  • Fisheries 
  • Aquaculture 
  • Inland Aquatic Resources
  • Environmental Management
  • Processing of Aquatic Products

During the event, the organisers recognized an Academic (Professor Ioannis Paschos), a Professional (Mr Nikolaos Anagnopoulos), and a Company (The Federation of Greek Maricultures - FGM) for their excellence and their invaluable contribution to the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Greece.

On Friday, 11 November, BlueBRIDGE partners Gerasimos Antzoulatos (i2S), Eleni Petra (UOA) and Charalampos Dimitrakopoulos (CITE) held the technical workshop "BlueBRIDGE: Cloud Infrastructure Serving Aquafarms", during which more than 120 participants gained insights on the project's work and outcomes.
