Collaboration type: Regular dialogue despite a collaboration agreement has not been set up

About EUDAT: With a network of more than 20 European research organisations, data and computing centres in 14 countries, the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure (CDI) is one of the largest infrastructures of integrated data services and resources supporting research in Europe. It is designed to address the full lifecycle of research data, representing a strategic solution to the challenge of data proliferation in Europe’s scientific and research communities and it is realised through an ongoing collaboration between Service Providers and Research Communities working as part of a common framework for developing and operating an interoperable layer of common data services. The CDI services cover data access, data storage, data discovery and metadata, persistent identification, data management, authentication & authorisation, service management infrastructure and Research Data Management (RDM) training & consultancy.

Short description of the collaboration & main achievements in the period: BlueBRIDGE has been invited to contribute to the first EUDAT Summer School on Research Data Management, held from the 3-7 July 2017 in Heraklion, Greece at the premises of FORTH, one of the BlueBRIDGE partners. BlueBRIDGE contributed to the  Summer School with the presentation Semantic Integration of Data in the Marine Domain and Beyond which fitted very well in the work EUDAT is doing on ontologies.

Plans for the future: After the Summer School some BlueBRIDGE partners, especially the technological ones, have approached EUDAT to assess if and how they could potentially join the newly establish the EUDAT CDI and the related EOSC-hub funded project (www.eosc-hub.eu).
