From 10-12 November 2016 BlueBRIDGE took part in the 2nd International Congress "HydroMediT 2016" in Mesolonghi, Greece. The 3-day programme explored applied ichthyology and the aquatic environment. The main objective of the conference was to examine global trends and innovations for the sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries.

BlueBRIDGE partners (Eleni Petra from @UoA, Gerasimos Antzoulatos from @I2S, Charalambos Dimitrakopoulos from @CITE, and Stella Tsani from ICRE8) held the technical workshop “BLUEBRIDGE: CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE SERVING AQUAFARMS”, during which more than 120 participants gained insights on the project's work and outcomes, in particular on the current progress and the cost-driven techno-economic evaluation model for aquaculture as well as on the socio-environmental impact in cost-driven production models. Project partners showcased two BlueBRIDGE virtual research environments (VREs):

The workshop was followed by a practical experimentation in which 18 students, researchers, and experts became VREs members and exploited their tools.
