About BlueBRIDGE

BlueBRIDGE is a project funded under the Horizon 2020 framework that develops tailor-made data management services to support the ecosystem approach to fisheries community. ICES is a partner of the BlueBRIDGE project and a user of its services.

In particular, ICES scientists have contributed to the development of the following BlueBRIDGE services:

• Stock assessment dashboard: a tool to facilitate the efficient assessment of fishery stocks and the production of related knowledge and indicators.
• Western horse mackerel Management Strategy Evaluation: a tool that implements a management strategy evaluation (MSE) that evaluates whether harvest control rules (HCRs) meet both conservation and stability objectives for the Western horse mackerel stock. The MSE VRE can be used to determine whether management plans can be considered precautionary for this stock.
• Ensemble Model: a tool aimed to implement an ensemble multispecies stock model structured by species and size. Foreseen use is to provide strategic context for stock management in multispecies and mixed fisheries.
